Medianoche Sandwich
The Medianoche sandwich is a delicious Cuban sandwich made with roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard, served on sweet bread.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Pickles - 4 slices
- Mustard - 2 tablespoons
- Sweet bread - 1 loaf, sliced
- Swiss cheese - 4 slices
- Ham - 4 ounces, thinly sliced
- Roast pork - 8 ounces, thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- Preheat a panini press or a grill pan over medium heat.
- Spread mustard on one side of each bread slice.
- Layer the roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, and pickles on one slice of bread.
- Top with the other bread slice, mustard side down.
- Place the sandwich on the panini press or grill pan and cook for 4-5 minutes, or until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted.
- Flip the sandwich and cook for another 4-5 minutes, until the other side is toasted.
- Remove from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
- Slice the sandwich in half and serve warm.
