Maldivian Fish Curry
This Maldivian fish curry is a flavorful and aromatic dish made with fresh fish, coconut milk, and a blend of spices.

- Fresh cilantro - For garnish
- Salt - To taste
- Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
- Tomato - 1, chopped
- Chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
- Curry powder - 2 tablespoons
- Ginger - 1-inch piece, grated
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1, finely chopped
- Coconut milk - 1 cup
- Fish fillets - 500 grams
Let's Get Started
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Sauté until the onion turns translucent.
- Add the curry powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and chili powder. Cook for a minute to release the flavors.
- Add the chopped tomato and cook until it softens.
- Pour in the coconut milk and bring it to a simmer.
- Add the fish fillets and gently stir to coat them with the curry sauce. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through.
- Add lime juice and season with salt to taste.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with steamed rice or roti.
