Ingredients - Serves 20
Let's Get Started
- Wash the lemons thoroughly. Using a vegetable peeler, remove the peel from the lemons in long strips.
- Place the lemon peels in a large glass jar and pour in the vodka. Cover the jar and let sit at room temperature for at least 10 days and up to 40 days in a cool dark place.
- In a large saucepan, combine the sugar and water and cook until thickened, approximately 5 to 7 minutes. Let the syrup cool before adding it to the Limoncello mixture.
- Add the cooled sugar mixture to the Limoncello mixture. Cover and let sit overnight at room temperature.
- Strain the Limoncello through a mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove the peels. Pour the strained Limoncello into bottle(s) and seal tightly.
- Store your Limoncello in the freezer until ready to serve.
