Lemon Barley Water
A refreshing and healthy drink made from lemon and barley. Perfect for hydration and packed with the goodness of lemon and barley.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Lemon zest - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Lemons - 2, juiced
- Water - 2 liters
- Barley - 1/2 cup
Let's Get Started
- Rinse the barley under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Place the barley in a large pot and add the water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 45 minutes, or until the barley is tender.
- Strain the barley, reserving the cooking water. Set the barley aside for another use.
- Add the lemon juice, sugar, and lemon zest to the barley water. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
