Leche de Almendra
A refreshing and nutritious homemade almond milk, perfect for those who are lactose intolerant or simply prefer a dairy-free alternative.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Salt - A pinch
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Honey or agave - 1-2 tablespoons
- Water - 4 cups
- Almonds - 1 cup, soaked overnight
Let's Get Started
- Drain the almonds from their soaking water and rinse them thoroughly under cool running water.
- Place the almonds in the blender and cover with 4 cups of water.
- Blend on the highest speed for 2 minutes.
- Pour the mixture into a nut milk bag or cheesecloth over a bowl and squeeze to extract as much liquid as possible.
- Pour the milk back into the blender and add the honey or agave, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Blend for another minute until well combined.
