  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add the eggs and melted butter to the flour mixture and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl with a towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a baba mold.
  5. Transfer the dough to the prepared mold and bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. While the baba is baking, make the rum syrup. In a saucepan, combine the rum, water, and vanilla extract. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  7. Remove the baba from the oven and immediately pour the hot rum syrup over it, making sure to cover it completely. Let it soak for at least 1 hour before serving.
