Lavender and Honey Glazed Turkey
This lavender and honey glazed turkey is a unique and flavorful twist on a traditional Thanksgiving turkey.
Ingredients - Serves 8
- Chicken broth - 2 cups
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 2 teaspoons
- Butter - 1/2 cup, melted
- Honey - 1/2 cup
- Dried lavender - 2 tablespoons
- Whole turkey - 12 pounds
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 325°F.
- Rinse the turkey and pat it dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, combine the dried lavender, honey, melted butter, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika to make the glaze.
- Brush the glaze all over the turkey, making sure to coat it evenly.
- Place the turkey on a rack in a roasting pan.
- Pour the chicken broth into the bottom of the roasting pan.
- Cover the turkey loosely with foil and roast for 3 hours.
- Remove the foil and continue roasting for another 1 hour, or until the internal temperature of the turkey reaches 165°F.
- Baste the turkey with the pan juices every 30 minutes.
- Once cooked, remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes before carving.
