Lamb Bolognese
A hearty and flavorful Italian dish, this Lamb Bolognese is a perfect comfort food that combines ground lamb with fresh vegetables and herbs in a rich tomato sauce.

- Parmesan cheese - For serving
- Pasta - 1 pound, cooked
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Bay leaves - 2
- Canned tomatoes - 1 can (28 ounces), crushed
- Red wine - 1 cup
- Tomato paste - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Celery - 1 stalk, finely chopped
- Carrot - 1, finely chopped
- Onion - 1, finely chopped
- Ground lamb - 1 pound
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
Let's Get Started
- Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the ground lamb and cook until browned. Remove the lamb from the pot and set aside.
- In the same pot, add the onion, carrot, celery, and garlic. Cook until the vegetables are soft.
- Add the tomato paste and stir to combine. Cook for 2 minutes.
- Add the red wine and scrape the bottom of the pot to deglaze.
- Add the crushed tomatoes, bay leaves, salt, and pepper. Return the lamb to the pot and stir to combine.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 2 hours.
- Serve the bolognese sauce over cooked pasta and top with grated Parmesan cheese.
