Laab
Laab is a traditional Thai salad made with minced meat, fresh herbs, and a spicy lime dressing.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Roasted rice powder - 2 tablespoons
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Cilantro - 1/2 cup
- Mint leaves - 1/2 cup
- Shallots - 3, thinly sliced
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Chili flakes - 1 tablespoon
- Lime juice - 3 tablespoons
- Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Minced pork - 500 grams
Let's Get Started
- Cook the minced pork in a pan over medium heat until fully cooked. Set aside to cool.
- In a large bowl, combine the fish sauce, lime juice, chili flakes, and sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Add the cooked pork, shallots, mint, cilantro, green onions, and roasted rice powder to the bowl. Toss to combine.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed. The salad should be tangy, salty, and spicy.
- Serve the salad at room temperature with sticky rice or lettuce leaves.
