Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, flour, egg, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  2. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions.
  3. Take one portion of dough and flatten it in your hand.
  4. Place a pitted plum in the center of the dough and wrap the dough around the plum, sealing it completely.
  5. Repeat with the remaining dough and plums.
  6. Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
  7. Carefully drop the dumplings into the boiling water and cook for about 10 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
  8. In a separate pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  9. Add the breadcrumbs and cook until golden brown.
  10. Remove the cooked dumplings from the water and roll them in the buttered breadcrumbs.
  11. Serve the knedle warm, dusted with powdered sugar.
