Kitakata Ramen
Kitakata ramen is a popular Japanese noodle dish known for its rich and flavorful broth.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Soft-boiled eggs - 2
- Nori seaweed - 2 sheets, shredded
- Bamboo shoots - 1/2 cup, sliced
- Green onions - 2, sliced
- Sake - 1 tablespoon
- Mirin - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Chicken broth - 4 cups
- Ramen noodles - 200g
- Pork belly - 200g
Let's Get Started
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add the pork belly. Cook for 5 minutes to remove any impurities. Remove the pork belly and set aside.
- In the same pot, add the chicken broth, soy sauce, mirin, and sake. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for 30 minutes to develop the flavors.
- Meanwhile, cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Slice the cooked pork belly into thin slices.
- To serve, divide the cooked ramen noodles into bowls. Pour the hot broth over the noodles.
- Top with sliced pork belly, green onions, bamboo shoots, shredded nori seaweed, and a soft-boiled egg.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
