Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is golden brown.
  3. Add the beef stew meat and cook until browned on all sides.
  4. Stir in the tomato paste, turmeric, cinnamon, cumin, coriander, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2 minutes to release the flavors.
  5. Add the cubed potatoes and water to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover. Simmer for 1 hour, or until the meat is tender and the potatoes are cooked through.
  6. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
  7. Serve the Khoresh-e-Aloo hot, garnished with fresh cilantro. It pairs well with steamed rice or Iranian bread.
