  1. In a medium-sized saucepan, bring the water to a boil.
  2. Add the rolled oats and salt to the boiling water, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Once the oats have absorbed most of the water and reached a creamy consistency, remove the saucepan from the heat.
  4. Stir in the milk and sweeten with honey or maple syrup according to your taste.
  5. Divide the kaurapuuro into serving bowls and top with berries or sliced fruits, chopped nuts or seeds, and a sprinkle of cinnamon or cardamom.
