Let's Get Started

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sake, grated ginger, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and mix well. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix all-purpose flour and cornstarch.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or pot for frying.
  5. Coat the marinated chicken pieces with the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  6. Carefully place the coated chicken pieces into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  7. Remove the fried chicken from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  8. Serve hot with lemon wedges for squeezing over the karaage.
