Japanese Omelette
A fluffy and delicious Japanese omelette, also known as Tamagoyaki, often served for breakfast or included in Bento lunch boxes.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - A pinch
- Mirin - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Eggs - 4
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, beat the eggs. Add sugar, soy sauce, mirin, and salt. Mix well.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Pour a thin layer of egg mixture in the pan, spreading it evenly.
- When the egg begins to set, roll it towards one end of the pan with a spatula.
- Move the rolled egg to the side and apply oil to the rest of the pan.
- Pour another thin layer of egg mixture in the pan and under the rolled egg.
- When the new layer begins to set, roll the egg again, starting from the side with the rolled egg.
- Repeat this process until all the egg mixture is used.
- Remove the omelette from the pan and let it cool before cutting it into slices.
