Italian Meatballs in Tomato Sauce

Ingredients - Serves 6
- Basil - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Canned tomatoes - 28 ounces
- Onion - 1, chopped
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Parsley - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Eggs - 2
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Parmesan cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
- Breadcrumbs - 1 cup
- Ground pork - 1/2 pound
- Ground beef - 1 pound
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic, eggs, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and set aside.
- Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes. Remove the meatballs from the pot and set aside.
