Htapodi
Htapodi is a traditional Greek dish that features tender, grilled octopus served with a simple dressing of olive oil and lemon juice.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
- Olive oil - 1/4 cup
- Octopus - 1 large, cleaned
Let's Get Started
- Rinse the octopus under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
- Place the octopus in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until the octopus is tender, about 45 minutes.
- Preheat a grill to medium-high heat.
- In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Remove the octopus from the pot and pat dry. Brush with the olive oil mixture.
- Grill the octopus for 2-3 minutes on each side, until charred and crispy.
- Serve the grilled octopus with a drizzle of the remaining olive oil mixture.
