Honghap Bap
Honghap Bap is a traditional Korean dish made with seasoned seaweed and rice.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted
- Eggs - 2, fried
- Radish - 1, julienned
- Carrot - 1, julienned
- Cucumber - 1, julienned
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Short-grain rice - 2 cups
- Seaweed - 10 sheets
Let's Get Started
- Cook the rice according to package instructions and let it cool.
- In a small bowl, mix together sesame oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, and salt to make the seasoning sauce.
- Place a sheet of seaweed on a bamboo sushi mat or a clean surface.
- Spread a thin layer of rice evenly over the seaweed, leaving a small border at the top.
- Arrange the julienned cucumber, carrot, and radish on top of the rice.
- Drizzle some of the seasoning sauce over the vegetables.
- Roll the seaweed tightly using the sushi mat or your hands.
- Repeat the process with the remaining seaweed and ingredients.
- Slice the rolled seaweed into bite-sized pieces.
- Serve the Honghap Bap with fried eggs on top and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
