  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
  2. In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate and butter together over a double boiler or in the microwave, stirring until smooth. Let it cool slightly.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  4. Gradually pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg yolk mixture, stirring constantly.
  5. In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  6. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the chocolate mixture until no streaks remain.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the torte is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once cooled, dust the top of the torte with cocoa powder and powdered sugar.
  11. Slice and serve with fresh berries for garnish. Enjoy!
