Gelato Con Brioche

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the milk and half of the sugar. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and the remaining sugar until well combined.
  3. Slowly pour the hot milk mixture into the egg yolk mixture, whisking constantly.
  4. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the heavy cream and vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  7. Once the gelato is ready, slice the brioche buns in half and fill with a scoop of gelato. Serve immediately.
