Garlic Balsamic Marinated Tempeh

  2. In a bowl, combine the balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, olive oil, soy sauce, honey or maple syrup, and black pepper. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Place the tempeh slices in the marinade, making sure each piece is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
  4. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium heat.
  5. Remove the tempeh from the marinade, reserving the leftover marinade for basting.
  6. Cook the tempeh for about 5 minutes on each side, basting with the leftover marinade as it cooks.
  7. Serve the garlic balsamic marinated tempeh hot, with your favorite side dishes.
