Frikandel
Frikandel is a popular Dutch fast food snack made from minced meat and spices.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Vegetable oil - For frying
- Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Nutmeg - 1/2 teaspoon
- Egg - 1
- Bread crumbs - 1/2 cup
- Onion - 1, finely chopped
- Ground beef - 500 grams
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, bread crumbs, egg, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into cylindrical sausages, about 10-12 cm long and 3 cm in diameter.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or deep fryer to 180°C (350°F).
- Carefully place the frikandels into the hot oil and fry for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the frikandels from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce or as a topping for fries.
