Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. In a large bowl, combine the grated Swiss cheese and Gruyere cheese.
  2. Rub the inside of a fondue pot with the minced garlic.
  3. Pour the white wine and lemon juice into the fondue pot and heat over medium heat until hot, but not boiling.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with the kirsch until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the cheese mixture to the hot wine, stirring constantly until melted and smooth.
  6. Stir in the cornstarch mixture and continue to cook until the fondue thickens.
  7. Season with nutmeg, salt, and pepper to taste.
  8. Transfer the fondue pot to a fondue burner and adjust the heat to keep the fondue warm.
  9. Serve with cubed French bread and assorted vegetables for dipping.
