Fig and Balsamic Glazed Shrimp

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the balsamic vinegar, honey, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until pink and cooked through.
  4. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add the halved figs and cook for 2-3 minutes, until slightly softened.
  6. Pour the balsamic mixture over the figs and stir to coat.
  7. Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss with the figs and balsamic glaze.
  8. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until the shrimp are heated through and coated with the glaze.
  9. Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh chopped basil.
  10. Serve hot as an appetizer or over a bed of rice or salad as a main course.
