Fig and Balsamic Glazed Figs
These sweet and tangy glazed figs are the perfect dessert or appetizer.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Walnuts - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Goat cheese - 1/4 cup, crumbled
- Fresh thyme - 1 tablespoon, chopped
- Honey - 2 tablespoons
- Balsamic vinegar - 1/4 cup
- Fresh figs - 8
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cut a small cross at the top of each fig, about halfway down.
- In a small saucepan, combine the balsamic vinegar and honey. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 2-3 minutes, until slightly thickened.
- Place the figs in a baking dish and drizzle the balsamic glaze over them, making sure to fill the cross cuts.
- Sprinkle the chopped thyme over the figs.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until the figs are soft and the glaze is caramelized.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.
- Serve the glazed figs warm, topped with crumbled goat cheese and chopped walnuts.
