Fig and Almond Crumble Cake
This delicious fig and almond crumble cake is a perfect combination of sweet figs, nutty almonds, and a buttery crumble topping.
Ingredients - Serves 8
- Milk - 1/2 cup
- Egg - 1, beaten
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Unsalted butter - 1/2 cup, cold and cubed
- Granulated sugar - 3/4 cup
- All-purpose flour - 1 1/2 cups
- Almonds - 1 cup, chopped
- Figs - 10 fresh figs, sliced
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the cold cubed butter to the dry ingredients and use your fingers or a pastry cutter to cut it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
