Fettuccine al Pesto
This delicious fettuccine al pesto is made with homemade basil pesto sauce and served with tender fettuccine pasta.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Black pepper - To taste
- Salt - To taste
- Extra virgin olive oil - 1/2 cup
- Parmesan cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
- Pine nuts - 1/4 cup
- Garlic cloves - 2
- Fresh basil leaves - 2 cups
- Fettuccine pasta - 12 ounces
Let's Get Started
- Cook the fettuccine pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a food processor, combine the basil leaves, garlic cloves, pine nuts, and Parmesan cheese. Pulse until finely chopped.
- While the food processor is running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until the pesto sauce is smooth and well combined.
- Season the pesto sauce with salt and black pepper to taste.
- In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the cooked fettuccine pasta to the skillet and toss with the pesto sauce until well coated.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the pasta is heated through.
- Serve the fettuccine al pesto hot, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves.
