Fava Bean and Pecorino Pizza
This delicious pizza is topped with fresh fava beans, pecorino cheese, and a drizzle of olive oil.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Fresh basil leaves - Handful, torn
- Black pepper - To taste
- Salt - To taste
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Pecorino cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
- Fava beans - 1 cup, shelled
- Pizza dough - 1 pound
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Transfer the rolled-out dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
- In a pot of boiling water, blanch the fava beans for 2 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water.
- Remove the tough outer skins from the fava beans.
- Spread the olive oil evenly over the pizza dough.
- Sprinkle the grated pecorino cheese over the dough.
- Arrange the fava beans on top of the cheese.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
- Garnish with torn fresh basil leaves.
- Slice and serve hot.
