Eomuk Bokkeum
Eomuk Bokkeum is a popular Korean side dish made with fish cakes. It's stir-fried in a delicious spicy and sweet sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Gochujang (korean red chili paste) - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
- Carrot - 1 small, thinly sliced
- Onion - 1 medium, thinly sliced
- Fish cakes - 200 grams
Let's Get Started
- Soak the fish cakes in warm water for 10 minutes, then drain and cut into bite-sized pieces.
- Heat a pan over medium heat and add the fish cakes, onion, and carrot. Stir-fry for 5 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix together the garlic, soy sauce, gochujang, sugar, and sesame oil.
- Pour the sauce over the fish cakes and vegetables in the pan. Stir-fry for another 5 minutes, until the sauce is well absorbed.
- Add the chopped green onion and stir-fry for another minute.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
