Dutch Pancakes
These traditional Dutch pancakes, also known as 'Pannenkoeken', are large and thin, similar to a crêpe, and can be served with a variety of toppings.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Lemon wedges - For serving
- Powdered sugar - For serving
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Milk - 1 1/2 cups
- Eggs - 2 large
- All-purpose flour - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, eggs, milk, and salt until smooth.
- Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt a small amount of butter in it.
- Pour a ladleful of the batter into the skillet and swirl it around to cover the bottom of the skillet.
- Cook the pancake for 2-3 minutes, or until the bottom is golden and the top is set.
- Flip the pancake and cook for another 1-2 minutes, or until the other side is golden.
- Repeat with the remaining batter, adding more butter to the skillet as needed.
- Serve the pancakes warm, dusted with powdered sugar and a squeeze of lemon juice.
