Dim Sum Assortment
A delightful assortment of traditional Chinese dim sum dishes, including dumplings, buns, and rolls.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Cilantro - 1/2 cup, chopped
- Vermicelli noodles - 1 cup, cooked
- Shrimp - 1 cup, cooked and chopped
- Rice paper wrappers - 10
- For the rolls: -
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Ground pork - 1 cup
- Flour - 2 cups
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Yeast - 1 teaspoon
- For the buns: -
- Dumpling wrappers - 20
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Shrimp - 1/2 cup, chopped
- Ground pork - 1 cup
- For the dumplings: -
Let's Get Started
- For the dumplings: In a bowl, combine the pork, shrimp, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Place a spoonful of the mixture in the center of each dumpling wrapper. Fold the wrapper over the filling and seal the edges.
- Steam the dumplings in a bamboo steamer for 15 minutes.
- For the buns: In a bowl, combine the yeast, sugar, and a little warm water. Let sit for 5 minutes. Add the flour and knead until a dough forms. Let rise for 1 hour.
- Divide the dough into small balls. Flatten each ball and place a spoonful of the pork and soy sauce mixture in the center. Fold the dough over the filling and seal the edges.
- Steam the buns in a bamboo steamer for 15 minutes.
- For the rolls: Soak the rice paper wrappers in warm water until soft. Place a little of the shrimp, noodles, and cilantro on each wrapper. Roll up tightly and serve with soy sauce for dipping.
