Cowboy Beans
A hearty and flavorful dish, Cowboy Beans combine ground beef, bacon, and three types of beans with a sweet and tangy sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 8
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Mustard - 2 tablespoons
- Brown sugar - 1/4 cup
- Barbecue sauce - 1/2 cup
- Baked beans - 1 can
- Kidney beans - 1 can, drained and rinsed
- Pinto beans - 1 can, drained and rinsed
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1, chopped
- Ground beef - 1 pound
- Bacon - 6 slices, chopped
Let's Get Started
- In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the drippings in the skillet.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Remove the beef and set aside.
- In the same skillet, cook the onion and garlic until tender.
- Add the pinto beans, kidney beans, baked beans, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet. Stir to combine.
- Return the bacon and ground beef to the skillet. Stir to combine.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover the skillet and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
