  1. Peel the potatoes and grate them using a box grater. Rinse the grated potatoes under cold water, then squeeze out as much moisture as possible.
  2. Heat the butter in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the grated potatoes to the skillet, spreading them out evenly. Press them down with a spatula.
  4. Cook for 7-8 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown and crispy.
  5. Flip the hashbrowns over and cook for another 7-8 minutes, or until the other side is golden brown and crispy.
  6. Season with salt and pepper, then serve hot.
