Classic Hash Browns
These classic hash browns are crispy, golden and delicious. They're the perfect side dish for any breakfast or brunch.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Russet potatoes - 2 large
Let's Get Started
- Peel the potatoes and grate them using a box grater. Rinse the grated potatoes under cold water, then squeeze out as much liquid as you can.
- Melt the butter in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the grated potatoes to the skillet, spreading them out in an even layer. Press down on the potatoes with a spatula to help them brown.
- Cook the potatoes for about 5 minutes, then flip them over and cook for another 5 minutes, or until they're golden and crispy.
- Season the hash browns with salt and pepper, then serve hot.
