Let's Get Started

  1. Peel the potatoes and grate them using a box grater. Rinse the grated potatoes under cold water, then squeeze out as much liquid as you can.
  2. Melt the butter in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the grated potatoes to the skillet, spreading them out in an even layer. Press down on the potatoes with a spatula to help them brown.
  4. Cook the potatoes for about 5 minutes, then flip them over and cook for another 5 minutes, or until they're golden and crispy.
  5. Season the hash browns with salt and pepper, then serve hot.
