Clam Sauce
This delicious clam sauce is made with fresh clams, garlic, white wine, and parsley.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Parmesan cheese - 1/4 cup, grated
- Spaghetti - 12 ounces
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Parsley - 1/4 cup, chopped
- White wine - 1 cup
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Clams - 2 pounds, fresh
Let's Get Started
- Scrub the clams under cold water to remove any dirt or sand.
- In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the clams and white wine to the pot. Cover and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the clams have opened.
- Remove the clams from the pot and set aside. Discard any clams that did not open.
- Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Remove the clams from their shells and chop them into bite-sized pieces.
- Return the chopped clams to the pot with the garlic and wine mixture. Add the chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Add the cooked spaghetti to the pot and toss to coat the pasta with the clam sauce.
- Serve the clam sauce over the spaghetti and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
