Churros Con Caramelo
Delicious Spanish churros served with a rich caramel sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Caramel sauce - For serving
- Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1/4 cup
- Vegetable oil - For frying
- Eggs - 3
- All-purpose flour - 1 cup
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Butter - 1/2 cup
- Water - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat and add flour. Stir until the mixture forms a ball.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Gradually add the beaten eggs to the dough, mixing well after each addition.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or pot.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
- Pipe the dough into hot oil, cutting it with scissors or a knife to the desired length.
- Fry the churros until golden brown and crispy, turning them occasionally.
- Remove the churros from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- In a separate bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon. Roll the warm churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Serve the churros with caramel sauce for dipping.
