Chiura
Chiura is a traditional Nepali snack made from beaten rice. It is light, crispy, and perfect for snacking.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt - To taste
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Beaten rice (chiura) - 2 cups
Let's Get Started
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add cumin seeds and mustard seeds. Let them splutter.
- Add turmeric powder and mix well.
- Add beaten rice (chiura) and salt. Mix well to coat the chiura with the spices.
- Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chiura becomes crispy.
- Remove from heat and let it cool.
- Sprinkle fresh coriander leaves and drizzle lemon juice over the chiura.
- Toss well to combine.
- Serve chiura as a snack or with tea.
