Chinese Spicy Tofu
This Chinese spicy tofu dish is a flavorful and satisfying vegetarian option.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions - 2, sliced
- Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable broth - 1/2 cup
- Red chili flakes - 1 teaspoon
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Firm tofu - 1 block, cubed
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red chili flakes.
- Add the cubed tofu to the bowl and gently toss to coat the tofu with the marinade. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
- In a separate small bowl, mix cornstarch with vegetable broth until well combined.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the marinated tofu. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until tofu is lightly browned.
- Pour the cornstarch mixture into the skillet with the tofu. Stir well and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
