  1. Cut the pork shoulder into long strips, about 2 inches wide.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the hoisin sauce, honey, soy sauce, five spice powder, minced garlic, and red food coloring if using.
  3. Add the pork to the marinade and mix well to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking tray with foil.
  5. Place the pork on the tray and reserve the leftover marinade.
  6. Roast the pork in the oven for 30 minutes, then brush with the leftover marinade and roast for another 30 minutes, or until the pork is cooked through and caramelized.
  7. Let the pork rest for a few minutes before slicing. Serve with rice or noodles.
