Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Cut the pork shoulder into long strips about 2 inches thick.
  2. In a bowl, combine the hoisin sauce, honey, soy sauce, five spice powder, minced garlic, and red food coloring if using.
  3. Add the pork to the marinade and turn to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking tray with foil.
  5. Place the pork on the tray and reserve the leftover marinade.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes, then turn the pork and baste with the reserved marinade.
  7. Bake for another 30 minutes, or until the pork is cooked through and caramelized on the outside.
  8. Let the pork rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
