This hearty and flavorful beef chili is perfect for a cozy night in. Packed with ground beef, beans, and spices, it's a crowd-pleasing favorite.
Ingredients - Serves 6

- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Cayenne pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 tablespoon
- Chili powder - 2 tablespoons
- Beef broth - 1 cup
- Black beans - 1 can (15 ounces), drained and rinsed
- Kidney beans - 1 can (15 ounces), drained and rinsed
- Tomato paste - 2 tablespoons
- Canned diced tomatoes - 1 can (14.5 ounces)
- Bell pepper - 1, diced
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 large, diced
- Ground beef - 1.5 pounds
Let's Get Started
- In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and diced bell pepper to the pot. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the canned diced tomatoes, tomato paste, kidney beans, black beans, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Taste and adjust the seasonings if needed.
- Serve the chili hot, topped with shredded cheese, sour cream, and chopped green onions if desired.
