Let's Get Started

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and diced bell pepper to the pot. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the canned diced tomatoes, tomato paste, kidney beans, black beans, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  4. Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  5. Taste and adjust the seasonings if needed.
  6. Serve the chili hot, topped with shredded cheese, sour cream, and chopped green onions if desired.
