Let's Get Started

  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the beef brisket and brown on all sides.
  2. Add the onions and garlic to the pot and cook until the onions are translucent.
  3. Add the bell peppers, tomatoes, tomato sauce, bay leaves, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  4. Cover the pot and reduce the heat to low. Let the meat simmer for about 2 hours, or until it is tender and can be easily shredded with a fork.
  5. Remove the meat from the pot and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded meat to the pot and stir to combine with the sauce.
  6. Serve the Carne Louca hot, or let it cool and serve it cold as a sandwich filling.
