- Baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon
- Vanilla extract - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Light corn syrup - 1/4 cup
- Unsalted butter - 1/2 cup
- Granulated sugar - 1 cup
- Popcorn kernels - 1/2 cup
Let's Get Started
- Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pop the popcorn kernels using a popcorn maker or a large pot with a lid.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, butter, corn syrup, and salt. Bring to a boil while stirring consistently.
- Allow the mixture to boil without stirring for 4 minutes, then remove from heat and stir in the vanilla and baking soda.
- Immediately pour the caramel sauce over the popcorn. Use tongs to toss and coat the popcorn with the caramel sauce.
- Transfer the coated popcorn to the prepared baking sheet, spreading it out evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
- Allow the caramel popcorn to cool on the baking sheet before breaking it into pieces and serving.
