Bun Nem Nuong
Bun Nem Nuong is a Vietnamese dish consisting of grilled pork patties, vermicelli noodles, fresh herbs, and a flavorful sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Sauce - 1/4 cup hoisin sauce, 1/4 cup water, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 tablespoon rice vinegar, 1 tablespoon fish sauce, 1 clove garlic (minced), 1/2 teaspoon chili garlic sauce
- Lime - 1, cut into wedges
- Roasted peanuts - 1/4 cup, crushed
- Cilantro - 1/2 cup
- Mint leaves - 1/2 cup
- Cucumber - 1, thinly sliced
- Lettuce - 1 cup, shredded
- Vermicelli noodles - 8 ounces
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ground pork - 1 pound
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, mix together the ground pork, minced garlic, fish sauce, sugar, and black pepper. Shape the mixture into small patties.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the pork patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
- Cook the vermicelli noodles according to package instructions. Drain and rinse with cold water.
- In a serving bowl, arrange the cooked vermicelli noodles, shredded lettuce, sliced cucumber, mint leaves, and cilantro.
- To make the sauce, combine hoisin sauce, water, sugar, rice vinegar, fish sauce, minced garlic, and chili garlic sauce in a small bowl. Mix well.
- Serve the grilled pork patties on top of the vermicelli noodles and vegetables. Sprinkle with crushed peanuts and serve with lime wedges.
- Drizzle the sauce over the dish or serve it on the side for dipping.
