Brazilian Pao de Queijo
Pão de Queijo is a popular Brazilian cheese bread made with tapioca flour and cheese. It is crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside.
Ingredients - Serves 20
- Minced garlic - 2 cloves
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Parmesan cheese - 1 cup, grated
- Eggs - 2
- Vegetable oil - 1/2 cup
- Milk - 1 cup
- Tapioca flour - 2 cups
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, heat the milk, vegetable oil, and salt over medium heat until it starts to boil.
- Remove from heat and add the tapioca flour. Stir until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl and let it cool for a few minutes.
- Add the eggs, grated Parmesan cheese, and minced garlic to the bowl. Mix well until a sticky dough forms.
- Using wet hands, shape the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pão de queijo is golden brown and crispy on the outside.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
