Let's Get Started

  1. In a bowl, combine the flour and yeast. Add the sugar, salt, lemon zest, and orange zest.
  2. Warm the milk and melt the butter in it. Gradually add this to the flour mixture, while kneading continuously.
  3. Add the eggs one by one, followed by the Port wine. Continue to knead until the dough is elastic.
  4. Add the mixed dried fruit and knead the dough for a few more minutes.
  5. Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 2 hours.
  6. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  7. Shape the dough into a round loaf, place it on a baking sheet, and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake the cake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes, or until it's golden brown.
  9. Let the cake cool, then dust it with powdered sugar before serving.
