Bo La Lot
Bo La Lot is a popular Vietnamese dish made with seasoned ground beef wrapped in betel leaves and grilled to perfection.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Dipping sauce - For serving
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Lemongrass - 1 stalk, minced
- Shallots - 2, minced
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Betel leaves - 12 leaves
- Ground beef - 1 pound
Let's Get Started
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, minced garlic, minced shallots, minced lemongrass, fish sauce, sugar, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.
- Take a betel leaf and place a spoonful of the ground beef mixture in the center. Fold the sides of the leaf over the filling and roll it up tightly.
- Repeat the process with the remaining betel leaves and ground beef mixture.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Brush the rolls with vegetable oil.
- Grill the rolls for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and slightly charred.
- Serve the Bo La Lot rolls with dipping sauce on the side.
