Beef Ribs with Caramelized Shallot Sauce

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F.
  2. Season the beef ribs with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe pot over medium-high heat. Add the ribs and brown on all sides. Remove the ribs and set aside.
  4. In the same pot, add the shallots and garlic. Cook until the shallots are caramelized.
  5. Add the red wine to the pot, scraping the bottom to loosen any browned bits.
  6. Add the beef broth, brown sugar, thyme, and bay leaf. Bring to a simmer.
  7. Return the ribs to the pot. Cover and transfer to the oven.
  8. Bake for 2.5-3 hours, or until the ribs are tender.
  9. Remove the thyme and bay leaf. Serve the ribs with the caramelized shallot sauce.
