  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Spread the almond paste evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a 1 inch border around the edges.
  4. Roll up the puff pastry tightly, starting from one of the long sides, to form a log.
  5. Place the pastry log on the prepared baking sheet, seam side down.
  6. Brush the pastry log with the beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
  8. Allow the pastry log to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
