Balmain Bugs
Balmain bugs are a type of slipper lobster native to Australia. This recipe pairs them with a simple garlic butter for a delicious seafood dish.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Lemon - 1, juiced
- Parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Butter - 1/2 cup
- Balmain bugs - 8
Let's Get Started
- Preheat your grill to high heat.
- Cut the Balmain bugs in half lengthwise and clean out the head cavity.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the parsley, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
- Brush the Balmain bugs with the garlic butter, making sure to get some in the head cavity as well.
- Place the Balmain bugs on the grill, cut side down, and cook for 4-5 minutes.
- Flip the Balmain bugs over and brush with more garlic butter. Cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until the meat is opaque and cooked through.
- Serve the Balmain bugs with any remaining garlic butter on the side.
